Temporary video producer/editor role for Page Six studio and digital video

Produce, edit and publish bite-sized celebrity videos for Page Six and the New York Post while working in a live studio environment

The New York Post’s Page Six video team is hiring a hands-on video producer/editor to create and distribute punchy, shareable clips about gossip, celebrities, reality TV and fashion. This position supports a multimedia newsroom that reaches millions each month—across print, digital, video and social—and expects someone who lives and breathes celebrity journalism. You will join a modern studio operation where speed, editorial judgment and an instinct for what performs on social platforms are central to success. The role is a fully on-site, five day a week assignment and is offered as a temporary engagement through a third-party vendor.

As part of this job you must prioritize breaking items and recurring series, refine creative concepts into tight scripts, and help publish across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter. Familiarity with audience analytics is expected: teams use tools like analytics software to surface high-potential clips, but editorial intuition is the key to spotting big stories early. The New York Post and Page Six combine wit and authority to turn headlines into clickable video moments, and this role is integral to that process.

About the role and daily responsibilities

You will collaborate directly with the Executive Producer to set priorities for studio shoots, assist across dozens of videos daily, and pitch fresh ideas that align with the brand’s voice. Responsibilities include scripting for the studio, overseeing production needs, executing basic edits in Adobe Premiere, and publishing video assets into articles and social channels. The ability to juggle multiple assignments means strong organizational habits and excellent communication are essential: keep producers, on-air talent and technical staff informed throughout the day while moving projects from concept to distribution.

Studio operations and workflow

The ideal applicant understands both the creative and technical sides of a broadcast-equipped newsroom. You should be comfortable operating within a control room environment and coordinating with camera, lighting and audio teams in a live studio. That includes prioritizing shoots, troubleshooting on the fly, and making editorial calls under tight deadlines. Success in this job depends on meeting production targets, adhering to style standards, and maintaining accuracy while working at pace—fact-checking remains non-negotiable even when the clock is running.

Required skills and technical qualifications

Applicants should have at least five years of production experience with demonstrated scripting and editing skills. Proficiency with Adobe Premiere is expected, and familiarity with tools such as Airtable, WordPress, Parsley (or similar analytics software), and JW Player CMS is a plus. Daily newsroom experience in a fast, live environment is critical; candidates who have worked in state-of-the-art control rooms and can adapt to rapid shifts in priority will stand out. You must be willing to work nontraditional hours, including nights, holidays, and major events when coverage demands it.

Compensation, term and employment details

This temporary position is expected to run for 4-5 months, subject to change based on business needs, and is facilitated through a third-party vendor who will handle employment and payroll. The base pay range for this role is $40 – $50/hr, with benefits eligibility and bonus targets determined by role and tenure where applicable. Candidates must submit a resume and cover letter and be prepared for an in-office schedule five days a week.
