Perez Hilton's family appeals for privacy during difficult time

The family of Perez Hilton has made a heartfelt plea for privacy as the celebrity blogger and podcaster receives medical attention following a disturbing livestream incident. The family’s request comes as Hilton’s children were present during the onset of his mental health crisis.

In a statement released on Hilton’s website, his family described the past few days as “nearly unbearable.” They revealed that Hilton’s children, niece, and sister were at home when his crisis began. As his condition worsened, they fled to protect the children from witnessing further trauma.

Disturbing livestream prompts emergency response

On the evening of Tuesday, August 4, 2026, Miami police responded to numerous calls after a disturbing video was livestreamed on TikTok. The video showed Hilton, bloodied and harming himself with a box cutter and knife. Concerned fans and TikTok moderators were among those who alerted authorities.

The Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office surrounded Hilton’s residence and reported around 9 p.m. that he had been “safely recovered and transported by Miami-Dade Fire Rescue to a local hospital, where he is receiving medical attention.”

Family focuses on children’s well-being

The family’s statement emphasized their priority of helping Hilton’s three children and niece heal from the traumatic experience. They urged the media and public to respect the family’s privacy and leave the area surrounding their home.

“For the children’s safety, privacy, and well-being, we respectfully ask members of the media, paparazzi, content creators, and the public to leave the area surrounding the family’s home and not return,” the statement read. “Please allow his children the privacy and space they need during this unimaginably difficult time.”

The family also shared that Hilton is “able to communicate,” which has given them hope during this “heartbreaking time.”

Hilton reflects on past actions and spiritual awakening

In a recent episode of the “Hang Out” podcast with Sean Hannity Hilton expressed regret over his past actions, admitting he was an “attention addict” who hurt people. He mentioned attempting to make amends with celebrities he had targeted, including Britney SpearsKhloé Kardashian and Neil Patrick Harris.

Hilton also discussed a spiritual awakening following a severe sepsis hospitalization in March 2026. He claimed to have seen God during his health scare and has since posted about the Bible, launched a religious merch line, and spoken about his faith on podcasts.

Hilton’s manager, Dante Rusciolelli and his podcast cohost, Chris Booker have also expressed their support for Hilton’s recovery. Booker announced that their podcast, “The Perez Hilton Podcast with Chris Booker,” is going on hiatus to focus on Hilton’s health.

As Hilton continues to receive medical attention, his family’s plea for privacy serves as a reminder of the importance of supporting those struggling with mental health issues.
