Five new recurring actors join the lineup
According to the latest casting bulletin, five performers have been tapped for recurring roles. Pej Vahdat—known for his turn in Bones—brings a seasoned dramatic edge. Shawntay Dalon fresh from the absurdist sketches of I Think You Should Leave adds a quirky energy. Isaac Stephen Montgomery whose recent work includes Lucky and the action-heavy The Gray Man rounds out the group alongside Judd Goodstein a recognizable face from the comedy You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah. Completing the quintet is Andrew Mayer who appeared in the musical drama Wu-Tang: An American Saga. Their characters remain under wraps, but industry insiders confirm they will appear throughout the season, intersecting with the main narrative.
Janeane Garofalo confirmed as recurring talent
Long-time collaborator of Ben StillerJaneane Garofalo has been added to the roster as a recurring figure. Garofalo’s résumé spans cult classics such as Wet Hot American Summer and the acclaimed sitcom The Larry Sanders Show. Her partnership with Stiller dates back to the late-1990s, where they shared screen time in projects ranging from The Ben Stiller Show to the feature film Reality Bites. In addition to her onscreen chops, Garofalo co-authored a New York Times bestseller with Stiller, underscoring a creative chemistry that producers hope will translate into the new series.
Creative forces behind the comedy
The series is the brainchild of Mike Judge famed for Office Space and Silicon Valley teamed with Steve Hely (writer for Veep) and Dave King (known for Parks and Recreation). The trio will co-write, co-showrun, and serve as executive producers, with Judge also directing.
