The Page Six video team at the New york post is looking for a hands-on video producer/editor to join our studio floor. You will help turn breaking celebrity moments and trending gossip into tight, shareable video content for social and web distribution. Working with a high-volume newsroom, the role requires a passion for celebrity journalism, an instinct for compelling narratives, and comfort making rapid editorial decisions in a state-of-the-art studio environment.
In this position you will balance speed with accuracy: hit production targets while ensuring facts are verified and scripts are polished. The team combines editorial judgement with platform-driven analytics to identify stories with high virality potential. If you love fashion, reality TV, and the social media conversation around stars, this role rewards that cultural fluency and the ability to translate it into visual storytelling.
About the role
As an on-site video producer/editor you will prioritize breaking items and develop series ideas in our studio. You will collaborate closely with the Executive Producer to choose which pieces to shoot, and you will be responsible for shaping scripts, running studio shoots, and helping with post-production. The position expects a mix of creative pitching and tactical execution: spot potential hits before they spread, use tools like Parsley to inform decisions, and rely on your editorial instincts to move quickly on big stories. This is a highly visible opportunity to contribute to a brand whose videos have driven more than a billion views in recent years.
Daily responsibilities
Day-to-day work includes pitching ideas, writing and refining studio scripts, assisting on shoots, and editing short-form packages. You will add videos to articles and publish across platforms such as YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and Twitter, adapting formats to what performs best on each network. Expect to juggle dozens of projects daily, prioritize breaking items, and keep all stakeholders informed. Strong communication and the ability to fact-check under pressure are essential. The team uses audience-first storytelling principles to keep content engaging and platform-appropriate.
Who we seek
We want candidates who live and breathe celebrity culture and fashion, who know the latest feuds, hookups, and streaming moments, and who can translate that energy into crisp video. The ideal hire will have at least five years in production, daily newsroom experience, and familiarity operating in a fast, live control-room environment. You should show a track record of hitting tight deadlines while maintaining editorial standards. A collaborative, organized approach and a positive, can-do attitude are musts, as is the willingness to work non-traditional hours for nights, holidays, and major events.
Skills and tools
Technical fluency is required: you should be comfortable editing in Adobe Premiere and familiar with studio and control room workflows. Experience with production and editorial tools such as Airtable, WordPress, Parsley, and JW Player is a plus. You will need strong scriptwriting skills and the ability to produce content tailored to platform norms. This role emphasizes both technical competence and editorial taste — the combination that finds and executes videos that resonate with wide audiences, including our monthly reach of roughly 90 million unique visitors and social video averages near 313 million monthly views.
Practical details and how to apply
This is a five-day-a-week, in-office position with an expected duration of 4-5 months, subject to business needs. Compensation is competitive with a base pay range of $40 – $50/hr. Note that this assignment is facilitated through a third-party vendor: while you will work with the New York Post and Page Six teams, employment and payroll are handled by the vendor. Please submit a resume and cover letter when applying.
