The Role: Crafting Celebrity Content

The successful candidate will be responsible for prioritizing breaking news and developing new series in a state-of-the-art studio. You will use analytics software like Parsley to identify videos with potential and make editorial decisions that keep the content fresh and engaging. This role requires a keen eye for anticipating big stories before they hit the mainstream.

In this fast-paced environment, you will assist on dozens of videos throughout the day. Your responsibilities will include strategizing, prioritizing, and multitasking to meet production targets. You must be comfortable writing scripts, juggling multiple stories, and maintaining open communication with the team. Fact-checking and ensuring accuracy are crucial, even under tight deadlines.

Key Responsibilities and Skills

As a Video Producer/Editor, you will communicate closely with the Executive Producer to determine the best approaches for videos and studio shoots. You will need to have a thorough understanding of video content across various platforms, including InstagramYouTubeFacebook and Twitter. Knowledge of the latest formats and trends in digital video is essential.

Your daily tasks will include pitching video ideas, contributing to team brainstorming sessions, and writing and refining scripts. You will also learn how to add videos to articles and publish them on social platforms. The ideal candidate will have at least five years of experience in production, with scripting experience and the ability to edit basic video on Adobe Premiere.

Technical and Soft Skills

Experience working in a fast-paced, live control room environment is key. Familiarity with tools like AirtableWordpressParsley and JW Player CMS is a plus. You must be able to work quickly under pressure, juggle multiple tasks, and maintain excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Professionalism, a strong work ethic, and a positive attitude are essential.

Organizational skills, resourcefulness, and the ability to work as a team player are crucial. You should be willing to work non-traditional hours, including holidays, nights, and big tentpole events when needed. This role requires a five-day-a-week in-office commitment.
