From Accidental Career to Lifelong Passion

Poirier’s entry into the automotive industry was anything but planned. An accidental careeras she puts it, began over two and a half decades ago. What started as a chance encounter has evolved into a lifelong passion. Poirier has been with CarCandy for the past three years, but her extensive experience and deep understanding of the industry have made her an invaluable asset to the company.

The most challenging part of her role, according to Poirier, is the constant multitasking. Juggling multiple responsibilities such as managing clients, overseeing operations, handling administrative tasks, and making strategic decisions is a daunting task. However, her excellent time management, organization, and adaptability skills have helped her master this juggling act, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the business.

The Power of Relationships and Mentorship

Poirier attributes much of her success to the relationships she has built over the years. These connections have made her work truly meaningful. She has always looked up to Rick Goldsteinthe owner of Wolfstein Pro-Series, who was a great mentor to her when she was starting. Goldstein’s guidance and example have had a lasting impact on her approach to work and her growth within the industry.

In terms of admiration for courage, Poirier mentions Jessi Combsa figure who always gave her all and never minded helping others achieve their goals. Poirier’s own qualities of integrity, interpersonal skills, and the ability to think outside the box have been instrumental in her success. Her integrity has built her reputation and earned the trust of colleagues and clients alike. Strong interpersonal skills have enabled her to build meaningful relationships and work effectively within a team. Additionally, her ability to think outside the box has allowed her to find innovative solutions to challenges and seize new opportunities.

Overcoming Challenges and Breaking Barriers

Being a woman in the industry has not been without its challenges. Poirier recalls instances where clients asked if there was a guy they could speak to. Such experiences, while frustrating, have only strengthened her resolve. Poirier’s advice to those facing similar challenges is to not take no for an answer. This mindset encourages reevaluation of the situation and finding alternative approaches to achieving goals. Persistence and flexibility often open doors that initial setbacks might close.

The incredible friends she has made and the amazing connections she has built keep her passionate about this industry and motivated to stay. Poirier’s story is an inspiration to many, especially women looking to make their mark in the automotive industry.
